International gold spot value converted to IRR. This is a metal-value reference, not a local jeweller, exchange or government quotation. Lower-karat values are calculated; taxes, local premiums and making charges are excluded. Currency conversion uses the daily ExchangeRate-API update from 2026-10-19 00:02 UTC; its timestamp is separate from the gold observation. The reference date follows the newer of these two inputs, while the gold timestamp is preserved. Values are in Iranian rials (IRR), not tomans. The provider FX reference is not a Tehran bazaar exchange rate or a domestic retail gold quotation.
24K uses the published reference value.

The World Bank changed its gold benchmark in June 2025: recent months average daily spot prices; earlier months use the London afternoon-fixing series described in the workbook. Treat comparisons across this boundary with that methodology change in mind. The archive is not adjusted for inflation.

GoldBroker’s historical spot-price chart in IRR per troy ounce. This is a separate series from the recorded table above.
Loading this chart connects to GoldBroker. Its own currency and date controls are independent of this dashboard.

Check the currency and exchange-rate basis before using an Iran gold figure: this page shows an international spot conversion in IRR, not a Tehran retail quote.
The Iran dashboard is an international spot equivalent in IRR using the identified provider’s exchange-rate basis. It is not a Tehran bazaar quotation and may differ substantially from a domestic gold offer. This distinction is material: an internally correct multiplication can still be unsuitable for comparing a shop price if the currency rate or monetary unit is different.
The conversion uses a gold observation and a separately dated currency reference. The currency input may update less frequently than gold itself. Read both dates when comparing a new local offer. This page does not substitute an unverified free-market exchange rate or claim that every rial figure represents the rate available to an individual buyer.
Different Iranian information services can use different labels. TGJU’s domestic 18K gold page identifies its quotation as per gram in rials. Bonbast’s quotation guidance says its own prices are in tomans and explains the 10-rial convention it uses. Always read the publisher’s unit definition instead of transferring a number between sites on the assumption that the labels are interchangeable.
For a written shop comparison, request the amount, currency unit, weight, purity and quotation time together. If the seller uses toman shorthand, ask for the full amount and conversion convention in writing. Monetary-unit changes, ambiguous shorthand and a different exchange-rate basis can create discrepancies much larger than normal display rounding.
An 18K gold-content calculation uses 18/24, or 75%, of the relevant pure-metal reference. Enter the gold-alloy weight and apply that fraction once. A finished item can also have workmanship, stones or other charges; ask for those separately. A purity calculation cannot correct a mismatched IRR exchange rate.
For a gold coin, identify the exact denomination, issue, weight and fineness. A coin’s market premium can differ from a per-gram jewellery reference. Do not treat a one-gram 18K figure as a direct coin quotation or assume every gold-coloured commemorative piece contains the same fine-gold quantity.
The city table uses the same provider-based IRR conversion for Tehran, Mashhad, Isfahan and other listed places. It is not an independent survey of Iranian shop prices. Use a current local quotation with its clearly stated unit and basis for an actual transaction.
The separate long-term international archive is useful for gold’s USD history. It does not reconstruct historical Tehran prices, free-market currency rates or domestic coin premiums. Keep these histories distinct rather than converting decades of dollar observations using today’s exchange rate and calling them historical Iranian gold rates.
The data methodology identifies the gold and currency inputs. Use the separate international archive for its stated USD monthly series rather than as Iranian retail history.
It is labelled IRR, Iranian rials, under the currency convention supplied by the data provider. Do not relabel the number as tomans. For a local comparison, ask the seller to state the full monetary unit and conversion convention explicitly.
The currency conversion basis may differ from the one used in the domestic offer. Purity, weight and product charges can also differ. Treat the dashboard as a provider-based international reference and use an independently confirmed local quotation for the actual transaction.
Only if you have verified that the difference is solely the monetary-unit convention. Bonbast states the 10-rial toman convention for its own quotations. A different exchange-rate basis cannot be corrected by that unit conversion alone.
No. Read the labels. TGJU’s 18K gram quotation explicitly identifies rials, while other services may use their own stated toman convention. Copying an unlabelled figure into a comparison can create a large error even when the gold weight matches.
They come from separate inputs. The international gold observation can change while the currency reference remains on its daily schedule. A new gold check does not make the FX observation newer; both inputs matter to the converted IRR value.
It is a calculated gold-content equivalent from the displayed reference. It does not establish an observed 18K shop transaction. For a purchase, obtain the seller’s dated price and check its exchange basis, monetary unit, weight and additional charges.
No. Match the currency unit first using the specific convention confirmed by the parties. Then match weight and purity. If the underlying exchange-rate basis differs too, converting the unit alone will still leave the two references unsuitable for a direct comparison.
A particular coin can have its own premium and product specifications. Compare its complete offer with the reference value of its fine-gold content. A changing coin premium does not mean the same percentage change occurred in the underlying metal.
Request the full monetary amount and unit, gold-alloy weight, purity, metal-rate basis, workmanship and other charges, plus the quotation time. If an amount is abbreviated in speech, ask for its written expansion before using it in a calculation.
They are the same provider-based IRR reference displayed for location comparisons. They do not claim separately observed domestic offers. Confirm a transaction price with the actual seller and match its currency convention before comparing it with a city row.
The bundled archive is an international monthly gold series in USD per troy ounce. It does not supply Iranian local prices or historical transaction exchange rates. Converting that archive with today’s IRR input would not create authentic 2023 Iranian market history.
No. Research such as the IMF paper on official and parallel rates explains why different exchange bases can exist, but it is not a current executable quote. Use a clearly dated source appropriate to the transaction and monetary convention.
