Convert the weight first
For a weight in tola, multiply by 11.6638038 to obtain grams. For a weight in troy ounces, multiply by 31.1034768. Multiply the resulting gram weight by the selected purity’s reference value per gram.
Do not mix ordinary and troy ounces
Precious-metal quotations commonly use the troy ounce. An ordinary avoirdupois ounce is a different measurement. A price labelled only “ounce” should be checked with the source before comparison.
Why small rounding differences appear
A provider may round its per-tola and per-10-gram tables separately. Converting a rounded amount back into another unit can produce a small difference. This website calculates using its stored per-gram reference and rounds the displayed final result.
